            Fun Facts

• The Grapevine Restaurant and Lounge opened its doors on Aug. 15, 1983.  The Grapevine is owned and managed by Joe and Terri Medvetz. 
• The previous occupant of the grapevine's current location was Homer City Savings and Trust Bank (now known as S & T Bank)
• The Back Dining room used to house a cut and curl beauty shop, but now it just houses beauty.

• Chef Tim Penrose joined The Grapevine's kitchen staff in 1996 after working many years at Chestnut Ridge Inn.  Chef Tim has excellent experience, skills and knowledge of food preparations, from interesting and delicious main entrees to his creative desserts.  Chef Tim Penrose gets many compliments from dining quests.  
• Krystal, a graduate of IUP Culinary School is doing a fine job with us.  She is a great help for Chef Tim Penrose.  Krystal's talents are with soups, sauces, desserts and main entrees.  
• Owner Joe Medvetz, working under Chef John Mitchell for 8 1/2 years and Chef Tim Penrose for 7 1/2 years can now be classified as Chef Joe.
• Our new Executive Manager, Tom Anderson, is doing a fine job with innovative changes, cost reductions, employee job duties, and many other important issues.  Keep up the good work Tom.  We are very proud of how you are handling the manager's role.
• Appointed to Dining Manager, Amanda is doing a superb job.  She has contributed so much in so little time.  
• Jarod Medvetz was the inspiration behind the web page name www.thegvine.com.  Jarod is currently attending Indiana University.    
• "Bethy Pooh" does it all - hosting/bartending/serving and keeps the owner in line. Beth is a happy newly wed and will be moving into their new home in November.
• Pete, good ole sweetie petey.  Everyone's favorite.   We are really glad to have Pete back with us.
• Eileen, a server , is busy with both jobs and being a working mom.  
• Crissy is back with us after giving birth to a beautiful baby girl, Hannah.  Mom and baby are doing fine!
• Jennifer, a quick learner, became a great server overnight.  We are very proud of her for working for us and doing her student teaching as well.  Sorry Jennifer for leaving your name off this page.  Jennifer loves the employee meals.
• Junior Server, Emily will soon train as a Server.  Emily is excited as we are too.
• Nikki is a welcome addition to our busser staff 
• Amanda and Tracy, our newest servers are wonderful.  They are quickly getting the hang of it.  We also welcome new servers Alisha and Emily to our staff.  They are getting the "hang" of things quickly as well.
• A big welcome to new server Lisa.  
• Buddy has been a welcomed addition to the kitchen staff.  He is full of energy and enthusiasm to learn the full function of the kitchen.
• We are glad to have Felicia back with us again as a part-time bartender.  She has many followers.
• It was great to see former employees Annie & Jeff.  They were in for dinner recently.  They both look terrific!    

• Since we can - we are publicly stating and declaring Joe Medvetz as the best tennis player out of the three Medvetz Brothers!
• Finally, the web master wants The Grapevine owners to know that at the mere press of a button all the web page files could be deleted in an instant.  Just something to keep in mind.   (hee hee)  :]
